This Saturday Hunter, me, and my dad went to Michigan's spring game. It was cold but we still had a bunch of fun! There were some real surprises during the game that went different from last week's scrimmage. This is going to be pretty brief due to my post last week about Michigan's practice.
Offense
- Denard Robinson is now fully capable to be the full time starter at Michigan! He threw a 97 yard touchdown pass to Roy Roundtree the ball was thrown about 30 yards. Robinson has impressed me so much that I'm hoping that he, not Tate Forcier, starts at quarterback.
- Devin Gardner threw a bomb! He's got a cannon! I really can't wait till this guy is an upper class man and shredding defenses! He looks like the real deal!
- Tate Forcier is a serious risk taker! He showed that scrambling ability that we all know and love. He didn't blow me away or disgust me.
- Roy Roundtree showed some play making! While Roy found some holes in the defense, he did drop some balls.
- Jeremy Gallon and Greg Odoms were making some really good plays! Odoms did drop a perfect pass though.
- The Offensive Line is going to be good come fall. Redshirt freshman Taylor Lewan at left tackle is a freaking' beast!!
Defense - Jonas Mouton was a physical beast during the spring game. He was flushing the quarterback out of the pocket.
- The run defense is really good! There weren't any long runs besides for a 15-20 yard touchdown run by Mike Cox.
- The secondary was really bad. The main blown assignments were due to players who aren't likely to play that much in the fall. Cameron Gordon had an off day on Saturday but still was pretty solid.
- J.T. Turner was non-existent at corner back he probably needs to move to safety. He's gained 20 lbs of muscle and is still adjusting to his new weight.
- Big Will Campbell is a big bear in the middle of the defense! He is going to be a force to be reckoned with come fall.
Overall - The Offense looked good! The quarterbacks need to stay in the pocket a little longer. I really hope that our run offense will be better by fall.
- There were too many balls on the ground! Fumbles and drops were way too plenty!
- Tackling wasn't as good this week as it was last week.
- There's no doubting that the defense and OL is going to be better than last years.
