Recent Michigan Receivers In the NFL

Former Michigan players Jason Avant, Steve Breaston, and Braylon Edwards have each had their ups and their downs and are each doing pretty good as of now. Braylon Edwards broke a lot of records at Michigan, he was picked in the first round by the Cleavland Browns. He had a pretty good rookie year with around 500 yards in 10 games and just kept getting better and better. He had his first 1000 yard season last year in 07; Surgery slowed him up during the beginning of the 2008 season but he still has over 800 yards in 14 games. Jason Avant was Michigan's next great wide receiver after Edwards, surprisingly he was picked in the 4th round by the Philadelphia Eagles. (many people thought that he was going to be a 2nd round pick.) It's taken Jason Avant a little longer than expected to get use to the speed of the NFL, but now he's picking it up a bit with his first 100 yard game yesterday against the browns. But I bet next year will be a break out season for him. Steve Breaston wasn't as good as many had hoped during his senior season at Michigan. He slipped down to the 4th round where the Arizona Cardinals, during his first season with the Cardinals all he really did was return punts which he did really well. For the 2008 season though Breaston really wanted to become a receiver threat but this was really hard to do because Arizona already had 2 top notched receivers. Even with him being the 3rd string wide out he's still has over 900 yards in 14 games! Arizona has been really surprised with this and now has one of the deadliest pass offense in the League!

My pick for the Heisman

This year there are a few people that are going at it for the Heisman trophy! There's a lot of great players this year but if I had to pick one it's definitely got to be Tim Tebow. After losing to Ole Miss toward the beginning of the season he swore that he would be the best leader in the nation from then on and not to lose another football game. And from then on they didn't just beat the rest of the teams that they played, the CRUSHED them! They beat every team by like 30-40 points! Then came the SEC championship game, #2 Florida VS #1 Alabama. Tim Tebow had almost a perfect game! I know for a fact that if Tim Tebow didn't play then Florida would have lost. Now besides for what he did this year I'm going to tell you about this guys play. Tim Tebow has the arm of a Quarterback, The speed of a Running back, The leg strength of a fullback and the hitting ability of a linebacker. Another thing that I like about Tebow is that he's a leader, and he can back himself up with being the leader, he can just break tackles so easily it's sad, and he can just totally take over a game. Well there you have it, my pick for the Heisman winner 08.

Michigan's QB recruiting: Tate forcier

Ok everyone that saw any part of the 08 Michigan season had to notice that Michigan needed a good Quarterback. Well Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez made sure that he had some good high school quarterbacks coming in for either next year, or the year after that. Next year Michigan will have 2 new top dual threat quarterbacks coming in there is Tate Forcier and there's Shavodrick Beaver. Tate is 6'0" 184 lbs and runs a 4.55 in the 40-yard dash and rivals.com rated him the most accurate passer and lets just say the biggest problem for Michigan this year was their accuracy. From this video it looks like he's a pass first run later guy thats another thing that I like about him. I'll cover more on Shavodrick Beaver in a later post.

The Detroit Lions

Ok everyone in the whole country knows that the lions are the worst team in the NFL, well they have been for the last decade. The thing about the lions is that they mess up on a lot of draft picks and that's where it counts for the future. Like last year they had like the 13th overall pick, and they waste it on some tackle from Boston college that was thought to be a 2nd or 3rd round pick! Well this year's picks hopefully will be better but this is what I would do. First we should use our first round pick on either a offensive linemen or on a linebacker like James larinitous (Ohio State). This year we have a lot of picks from the 3rd round to the 5th round so that's where the lions pick up on offensive linemen or defensive backs, but one thing that the lions have unable to get in the last 15 years is a franchise Quarterback! Now if Tim Tebow doesn't enter the draft this year then what I say is don't get a quarter back yet, first we need an offensive line then next year we're going to be bad again and THEN we get Tebow! But I don't know how the lion's are going to draft cause they are very unpredictable.

Miss T and the "Soldier boy"

I heard about this story recently, it happened last year. OK Miss T likes dances and weird songs to try to help us learn Spanish better and she made this one that involved doing the "soldier boy," and it's really funny watching old people who have absolutely no coordination. It was so funny that one of the students pulled out a camera and recorded it! And what was even more funny was that she put it on YouTube! But imagine Miss T's surprise when she went on YouTube to look for a video to show everyone how to do it when she saw herself doing the soldier boy!! She was SO mad that she made the student take the video off YouTube and never has done the soldier boy since.

My crazy teacher

Ok well I'm just going to let you know that a lot of my posts in the future are going to have the same subject and that is my crazy Spanish teacher Miss T. She's really weird and has a lot of migraines so she's on a lot of drugs which makes her do weird stuff like yesterday. Yesterday Miss T was giving out our tests that she checked and one of my classmates Zack complains about his grade that it should be higher. And Miss T goes on about how she put a lot of points on the paper so we would get better grades and goes on saying that he doesn't study well and Zack says that he studies hard everyday (he doesn't). Then Miss T tells us that all teenagers lie and that all teachers including herself were saints. This whole time she's talking about how she's a saint she has her hands together and is acting as if she's an angel. And again she goes on about how when she dies her wings (while flapping her arms) are going to take her straight to heaven. This whole time we're cracking up at the thought of Miss T being an angel and she's like "why are you guys laughing??" in later stories about Miss T you'll find out why we were laughing so hard.

Dearborn Varsity??

This year I played for the Dearborn high J.V. football team and I started at nose guard. Now if you know much about me and the nose guard position you would know that the nose guard is like the biggest guy on the team and you would also know that I'm not the biggest guy at 6 foot and around 175 lbs. I am still undecided whether I'm playing for Varsity next fall but what I do know is that the defensive tackle and nose guard are coming back next year. Another thing that I know is that for the first time in my 8 year career my size in actually preventing me from playing a position.

So I've got a couple choices 1. I could stay at nose guard and get knocked on my butt by 360 lb linemen for the last 2 years of my career 2. I could switch position (it would probably be either defensive end or linebacker) have to learn the position and try to out play guys that know how to play the position already 3. I could just not play football. Like I said I still don't know what I'm going to do yet but I'm still going to the team workouts and training at least until summer.
