Mike Barwis's workout camp!

on May 9th I'm going to Michigan's straight and conditioning camp with Mike Barwis who is one of the top straight and conditioning coaches in the Nation! I lift weights just about every other day at my house but I just do my own thing so I can wait to see how much stronger I get doing what Barwis says!

Commitment after the spring football game

Stephen Hopkins commited to Michigan resontly after the spring game. He's built like Anthony Thomas and is proof that Rich Rodreguez isn't just going for small fast running backs. Man is this guy good!!

New michigan commitment

Michigan got their 2nd Florida commitment of 2010 in Marvin Robinson the 6th best safty in the nation. He's the 99th best player in the nation.

(part 1) 10 Michigan Players to watch in 2009 (1-5)

With spring practice over, there's a pretty good image of who are going to be studs come fall. Here are some that I think are at least going to have a lot of importance of Michigan's season on their shoulders.

1. Tate Forcier Freshman QB. Well I know your thinking "DUH!" but yeah we already know how bad they are without a good quarterback. Even though Forcier looked good during the spring game he's going to make mistakes during opponents like Ohio State who have AMAZING defenses year after year. But he still should be good I liked what I saw from this guy at the spring game.

2. Brandon Minor (#4)/Carlos Brown Seniors RB. Minor had a good season last year despite playing in only 5 games due to injury. We need him to step up this year to take off the pressure from freshman Tate Forcier and he should do a lot better running behind an ACTUAL offensive line! If he gets injured the season isn't lost because Carlos Brown is ready to step up to the plate if needed. They will also be both at running back at the same time this year if no one gets injured. Both are healthy for the first time in their injury filled careers.

3. Brandon Graham Senior DE (#55). Graham has been a BEAST in the Michigan defense for 2 years and even though he could have gone to the draft he decided to stay another year at Michigan. He will be all over the field making sacks, tackles, and fumbles. This year the defense sadly looks like the weak point but he and Obi Ezeh are determined to prove everyone wrong.

4. Obi Ezeh Junior OLB. Obi was a 3 star prospect coming out of high school lets just say that he proved them wrong about his low rating. He became in the freshmen all-American list after his freshmen year and is constantly playing at a high pace. He's got another year after this one which is a really good thought for next year because he's just a monster on the field! He's got a pretty promising NFL career for him if he keeps this up.

5. Donavan Warren (#6)/Boubacar Cissoko Junior/Sophomore CB. Warren was a freshmen all-American but last year struggled with an injury filled season. Cissoko had a pretty good season considering he was a freshmen last year, but he was more of a star returning kicks. Both were very highly rated CB's in High school but now need to step it up for Michigan this year. Michigan's defense gave too many big plays last season and a lot of these guy's play is going to determined whether that happens this year.

Are you serious it's over???

Ugh I can't believe that spring break is over already man it went by FAST! Now they've got me back in school and behind bars! I keep telling myself that there's less than 2 months of school left but the question, "Can I make it??", haunts my mind. I NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE!!!

Finally SPRING BREAK!!!

It's been about 2 months since we've had a day off from school at all. Oh my gosh I'm unbelievably happy that spring break is finally here! 11 days to goof off and do whatever I want! Oh yeah this is going to be sweet! Next year they shouldn't have this period of no days off of school so long maybe a week or 2 shorter because I have a serious headache whenever I think about going to school. But I won't think about that now for a WHILE WHAOOO!!

My Offensive grades from yesterday's spring practice

Quarterbacks
Tate Forcier well didn't play as well as I hoped, he had a tendency to look right at the receiver he was going to throw to for forever! From what the volunteers said he was having an off day but all I can say is that I hope he was because he wasn't too hot today. He was really accurate but sometimes miss read what the receiver was doing, he should get better at that come fall though. David looked better than I expected but wasn't anything special he got the ball there, but that's really all that he did. But I still have to say that it was better than what it was last year, but that's not saying much. Overall grade: C+

Running backs
The running backs looked really good yesterday Brandon Minor ran as hard as ever. Carlos Brown showed that he still has that break away threat with a 60 yard run for a touchdown. The guy who was a big surprise to me was a guy like Forcier entered college early, from Florida Vince Smith (#2) has AMAZING agility yesterday he slipped out of a tackle kept running then got sandwiched between 2 defensive players and STILL was running and scored a touchdown! This guy has some serious skill he's only 5'6" or 5'7" but if he stays healthy he's going to be a great one for Michigan.
Final grade: A-

Wide receivers
The wide receivers were okay sometimes they would drop a pass but they were pretty good they had a hard time getting open at times with our corner backs but still made some pretty good catches Greg Mathews made this terrific catch and run for 30-40 yards! But they are about average at this position. Final grade B

Linemen
Let me start off by saying that more than half the reason we had a 3-9 season was because of these guys being inexperienced. But this year they look pretty solid on a lot of the runs during the scrimmage there were really good holes which will be a nice change from last year. There were a couple of plays where there was pressure on the quarterback but nothing major like all of last year. Final grade B+

Michigan Coaching Clinic

Tomorrow my dad and I are going to the Michigan Coaching Clinic! Which should be fun seeing the wolverines practicing before anyone can see them. I'm going to spend sometime watching Tate Forcier and see how well he's doing with the process, another thing I'm going to check out is the wide receivers because no one knows how good they are since last year they didn't have a quarterback.

sick of school

We've had no days off school for several weeks now and it's KILLING ME!! Next week we have a 4 day week then Easter break. (Thank you!!). Another thing that has been making the time go slowly for this period of time is that Mrs. T hasn't been absent in like 3 weeks! Usually she misses one day every week but no she decides to finally go on a run of 3 weeks during the longest part of the year! Ugh I feel like my brain is melting!
