Dang a lot can happen in 3 weeks!!
Wow It's really hard to believe how your life can change in 3 weeks! 3 and a half weeks ago I was spending most of my time in my basement playing call of duty. Now I'm in great physical shape! When I first started working out I could barely lift 25 lbs on the preacher curl, now I can do 6 reps of 35 lbs. When I started I could bench on the machine 200 lbs 3 times now I can do that AND 10 reps of 150, 167, and 175 lbs!
I can actually see and feel the results! I now spend an hour at least on Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's at the gym. I've been wanting to be more active lately which is good because the weather lately has been great! I've been craving meat every day since I started working out at the gym!

Well it worked!

I blogged yesterday about how I was going to try to get Andrew M to workout with me. He wants to workout a lot but he doesn't have a membership so he can't go all the time. Well I convinced him to workout with me and DANG, it was a crazy workout! We were originally going to start off at the dead weights but there were a bunch of guys there so we decided to go to the machines.
We started with the benching machine not too hard at 125 lbs and worked our way up. Once again I forgot that Andrew hasn't worked out at all during the off-season when he could only do around 5 reps of 137 lbs. So the whole time I was going up in weight like to 175 lbs and still doing 10 reps while he's at 137 lbs doing his 5 reps. I ended up going up to 200 lbs with 3 reps and he was STILL doing 5 or 6 reps of 137 lbs! I started to go down in the weight to cool down while he's now doing 7 reps on 137 lbs! He was actually doing more reps the longer he was working out! He ended up going to 150 lbs once and did 3 reps but man that guy is durable! I looked up at the clock as we finished and found out that we were benching for 45 minutes!
Andrew really likes to workout his biceps and I do too. So whenever he works out with me I try to workout the biceps good with him. We decided to do the very challenging preacher curl! I started with 30 lbs and Andrew had 20 lbs. After a while we soon realized that this was too easy and moved up in weight to 25 lbs and 35 lbs. That really gave us a burn! We ended up working out the biceps for about 30 minutes.
To fully complete the bicep workout you have to workout the triceps. So that's what we did with the triceps machine we did 70, 80, and 90 lbs. Then we took a short break with the shoulder press which works out both the shoulders and triceps. After a extremely grueling series of lifts at the shoulder press we went right back to the tri's to finish what we started! When we went back to the triceps machine it felt really weird because we were lifting 90 lbs but it felt more like 70 lbs so we ended up going to 120 lb.
By now we our arms feel like they're going to fall right off of us so we decided to call it a day. The whole workout took 2 hours! From 3:50 to 5:58! I'm pretty sore right now but I can't wait to see Andrew today! He's probably dying!

P.S. The picture is from a year and a half ago. So don't go asking where are the results from working out.
If you're a bit confuse....
I've told you about 3 different Andrews....
Andrew W : A freshmen from my computer class that I saved from a bunch of big harry guys.
Andrew M : One of my best friends, known him since 3rd grade. Played football with him for 7 years and we like to workout together.
Andrew G : Probably my closest friend at lifeguards. He's in my Spanish class and is a lot like me only he's a senior.
I hope everything is cleared up.

Civic Center Here We Come!

You probably know this if you've been reading my blog recently that my family has obtained a membership at a gym. The building is called the civic center. I've been spending every moment that I can there lifting weights being a gym rat like myself. It's been a lot of fun these past 2.5 weeks working out. I started out working out with the machines but after a while went with the dead weights.
While I was walking with my friend Andrew M. We go pretty far back, we played football together for 7 years. I talked him into working out with me at the civic center. We finally started working out at 4pm and started with my weakest area, benching. After we were benching for about 20-30 minutes, Andrew started to hint that he wanted to workout the biceps. So I destroyed his biceps by making him do curls of 25 lbs while I lifted 30. We did that for a really long time till he couldn't lift 25 lbs anymore. Then we slowly lowered the weight to fully workout our arms. Then after arms we worked on our triceps. It was a hour and a half workout and it was freakin AWESOME! It was the best workout I had and it was his first in a few months.
Andrew and I worked out on Friday so when I saw him after school on Monday he was STILL sore! He couldn't believe it when I told him that I wasn't sore (partly because I was lifting heavier weights than him) and he told me that he still couldn't fully extend his arms without pain! Man I really wish I could've seen him on Saturday. I'm going to try to talk him into working out with me again today!

The ACT!!
I've got the ACT coming up tomorrow. School has been quite tense since then, while trying learn all I can around the ACT. You probably thought it was me freaking out well your wrong! I got a 23 on the ACT last year so I don't have a doubt that I'll do fine. This is the 3rd time I'm taking the ACT anyway and while I'm a little nervous it isn't too bad but don't tell my mom this. She's freaking out! I'm probably a 6 on the nerves chart (out of 10 with 1 being normal). My mom is a total 10 it's like what if I got a 19 last year then what? My best subject by far is math, last year I got a 28 in math. My greatest upgrade over the year is my english I went from 19 to now being around a 23-25. While I did great in the science section last year I'm a bit nervous because I haven't been doing as great on the practices. Reading isn't hard but I'm just not too great at it because last year I got a 21 or 22. The ACT must stand for Another Connor Torrment.

Fun game during Lifeguards and a great day overall!
Yesterday was overall a really great day! School was all ACT which was great*. Right after school, we went to the civic center to workout and it was fantastic! I usually workout with the machines but this time, I decided to go to the dead weights instead. It really paid off big time! I workout my biceps often and even they are sore! I also worked out my pecs with some benching. After the gym I went in my backyard to do some cardio with a jump rope. After 1,001 jumps I hoped in the shower and left for a fundraising dinner for the lifeguards. After the dinner it was time for lifeguards.
The game today was where everyone had 5 clothes pins and they had to pin them on their clothes. Then you had to grab other people's clothes pins off them and put them on you. The person with the most pin wins! The first game I was doing a good job at grabbing a bunch of clothes pins at one time, but half of them would break. Joy was stealing some of mine, while I was attacking people, without me even knowing! Near the end of the first game I had just grabbed 5 from a couple of girls but as I was putting them on I was getting MAULED by guys running by and taking my pins! I ended the game with 1 pin.
Then we had another round of the game so after everyone was set we started. While I was "dueling" someone a hyper active kid named Conor ran into my leg which caused me to loose feeling in it. So the rest of the game, I'm limping around like a cripple. Well since the girls just mainly stayed in one corner not moving that much and with my limited mobility I decided they would be easy targets... I was wrong.
The girls came up with a great strategy where they would put all of the pins on one sleeve and tuck that arm in really hard and attack with the other arm. Thankfully I'm particularly strong so I would pry their arms from their sides and grab a hand full of pins! After I'd taken most of the girls pins I realized that I missed one who had at least 15 pins! Well this one had the same strategy as the others except for a twist. When I grabbed her arm to take her pins she it the floor and started rolling! After the shock of this wore off of me I kept her from rolling and pulled at her arm. Dang that girl was strong! I nearly pulled her to her feet but she wasn't giving up! Right when I was about to get some pins my bicep gave out due to being tired from the workout earlier. That's when I finally realized that I only had 1 pin left! The other girls were picking my dry during the whole scurry! At this point I realized that I lost the game because I had 12 but I fell down to 1! I ended the game with 4 pins.
After the game I found out that everyone had seen me actually pulling the girl almost to her feet and they were giving her props. She certainly deserved it! I only got one of her's after that.
